Strategic Alliance!Zhuzhou Keneng & Peking University Co-found Joint Lab for the Critical Materials in the Semiconductor Field.

On the morning of January 12, 2026, the inauguration ceremony of the “Peking University-Zhuzhou Keneng Joint Laboratory for Advanced Low-Dimensional Semiconductor Materials for Integrated Circuits”, a collaborative initiative between Zhuzhou Keneng and the School of Electronics, Peking University, was held at the Xinyan Campus of Peking University and it was the first academic seminar.
At the event, Dr Jianfeng Jiang, a researcher and distinguished young academic leader from the School of Electronics, Peking University, delivered a keynote speech. He provides a depth analysis of cutting-edge trends and technical pain points in the field of two-semiconductor materials. The teams from both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the topic including “the application of rare scattered metals in the growth of two-dimensional semiconductor materials”. This academic is practical and valuable application, laying a solid foundation for the future cooperation.
Professor Lianmao Peng, member of Chinese Academy of Science and Dean of the School of Electronics, Peking University, together with Professor Xiaolong Wei, vice dean, elaborated on the school’s disciplinary advantages, scientific research achievements and talent reserves in the semiconductor materials field. Professor Xuelei Liang invited the R&D backbone of Zhuzhou Keneng to visit the key laboratories of the school in person, allowing them to experience firsthand the innovative atmosphere of the top-tier scientific research platform.

Kefeng Zhao, chairman of Zhuzhou Keneng, stated that the establishment of the joint laboratory is a crucial initiative for the company by the integration of industry, academia, research and application. He hopes that the joint laboratory will evolve into a pioneer by exploring cutting-edge technologies and leading the future, as well as a model by collaborating for commercialization through industrial application based on research. It is expected to serve as a platform for the researchers of company to pursue further education and gain exposure to cutting-edge theories, and also act as a bridge for sharing and cultural exchange between Zhuzhou Keneng and the School of Electronics of Peking University. In the future, the two parties will take the Joint laboratory as a link to carry out regular and depth exchanges and cooperation. Based on that, it develops the strength in the scientific research, industry and market, stimulates innovative inspiration, and achieve commercial value. Ultimately, there is a mutual empowerment and common development between Zhuzhou Keneng and the School of Electronics of Peking University.
